Natural Wonders of Etosha National Park
Etosha is Namibia’s most celebrated centre for game viewing, and rightly so. Namibia safaris are frequently focused on the desert, location or individual adapted desert species, and then comes Etosha; a serious wildlife haven, abundant with variety and life.
This National Park protects such prolific herds and predators as to rival any other in Africa, and during the dry season animal congregations around accessible waterholes make for exciting, diverse and easy safari action.
Etosha Wildlife
Safaris here throughout the year enjoy frequent sightings of elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, springbok, oryx, kudu and the tiny damara dik-dik.
Etosha Birdlife
Prolific and exciting birdlife make Etosha superb for twitchers and will possibly convert those who did not realise they were, with ostrich and raptors in abundance. Local specials include the Short-toed Rockthrush, Haulaub’s Francolin, Rockrunner, Ruppells Parrot, White-tailed Shrike and Chestnut Weaver.
